Ardtornish is more than just a scenic spot; it’s a cherished place that has hosted returning families for generations.
A haven for those seeking an escape from the bustle of everyday life, the estate offers self-catering accommodation in a variety of forms, from a simple bunkhouse through to charming stone-built cottages and grand Victorian apartments in Ardtornish Mansion House.
The estate has been seamlessly blending tradition with modern enterprise since the early 1900's, with a working farm producing its own beef and lamb, operating a thriving Farm Shop and Kitchen Garden, and generating power through hydro schemes. All this has gone a long way to create a close-knit community of guests and locals alike who hold Ardtornish close to their hearts and feel a collective duty of care as its custodians.
Guests can enjoy a range of country sports that draw enthusiasts worldwide, eager to fish in its sparkling rivers and lochs or explore the serene and enchanting landscapes of Scotland's West Coast Islands to immerse themselves in the rich Celtic heritage.
With conservation and sustainability at the heart of the estate’s objectives, five hydro power schemes are currently in place. A biomass woodchip boiler heats the mansion house, Achranich and the Bunkhouse complex and green initiatives are being developed to reduce further the estate’s carbon footprint. The Ardtornish team is dedicated to the local area and committed to sustainability and community development, including providing affordable housing and building plots in nearby Achabeag.
