Victoria Martinelli

As Director of People and Culture, Tori (she/her) is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of people initiatives here at Lemongrass. Her role is crucial in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. Tori is at the forefront of driving cultural transformation, boosting employee satisfaction and retention, and ensuring the company attracts, develops, and retains top talent.

Tori spearheaded our journey to BCorp Certification and with the collaboration of the Lemongrass Green Team continues to move forward with our carbon reduction strategy. Focusing on Biodiversity, our social and environmental objectives and inspiring sustainable change within our team encourages them to make the right choices. Tori helps to move our clients forward into making impactful change thus reducing our overall impact on the planet.

She works to positively support and contribute to the community, opening hearts and minds by her volunteering and charity plans, supporting Harvest Banbury, Harvest Bicester, the Oxford Animal Sanctuary and Dogs for Good to name just a few.

Tori is travel through and through having worked for two of the most well-known and successful Tour operators in the UK, Audley Travel and Abercrombie and Kent. After many years working in Sales, HR and Recruitment, Tori headed off to India with a one-way ticket and no return date planned. Now at Lemongrass, she is able to combine both her work experience with her huge passion for travel.

Unsurprisingly in her spare time Tori loves to travel and explore new cultures and cuisines. She is always listening to jazz music, enjoying the theatre or a relaxing spa after having ran a marathon or two for charity. Sharing a prosecco with family and friends is when she is most happy and loves being with her rescue Bindle, the lucky black cat.

What is a Carbon Commitment?

At Lemongrass, we advocate for carbon pledges, personal commitments to reduce emissions within our organisation. We believe in collective efforts to combat climate change and aim to achieve net zero by 2038. Each team member has pledged specific actions to reduce carbon emissions, reinforcing our shared commitment to sustainability and bringing us closer to our net zero goal. Tori’s Carbon Commitments:

  • Reduce emails internally and externally, unsubscribing to avoid all the spam emails.
  • Become paperless, HR/Induction/Expenses are all completed online now.
  • Arrange plant-based lunches for the team for monthly lunch and learns and provide plant-based options for teams socials.
  • Roll out team carbon budgets for travel and combine trips and meetings to reduce travel.
  • Educate clients/partners on BCorp, joining other sustainable communities, events, webinars.
  • Complete the 100 point challenge.
